Ogbomoso Road Reconstruction: Five Roads Under Construction in Ogbomoso North and South

Motorists and residents in Ogbomoso can look forward to smoother rides as the Oyo State Government continues reconstruction work on several roads across the city. Photos shared by the state's FeedbackOYSG platform in April 2026 show work in progress on the longest of them.

Roads under construction in Ogbomoso

• Owode – Idi Oro – Kere Baya Oje Road: 5.7 km, Ogbomoso North

• General – Orita Naira – Oja Igbo – Abede Road: 3.3 km, Ogbomoso North

• INEC – Delight Hotel – Ile Ewe Junction: 1 km, Ogbomoso North

• Corpers' Lodge – Milky Junction Road: 2.69 km, Ogbomoso South

• Abayomi – Sawmill Road: 0.25 km, Ogbomoso South

That is about 13 kilometres of road work in total across the two city local governments.

What residents can expect

• Diversions and slower traffic around construction sites, especially near Oja Igbo and Orita Naira.

• Better access to markets, schools and the LAUTECH axis once the work is complete.

• Drainage improvements are usually part of reconstruction, which should help reduce flooding in rainy season.

The bigger picture: Oyo–Ogbomoso road

Separately, the 53km Oyo–Ogbomoso dual carriageway, a federal road project, remains a major concern for travellers on the Ibadan–Ilorin corridor. Inside Ogbomoso will publish updates as new official progress reports are released.
